Why ZDNet desperately needs an update

On Windows XP Service Pack 2, you don’t have to do anything to get your computer protected - just let the Automatic Updates do the job. (Well, sort of. You should also get antiviral and firewall protection - you are warned constantly even by Microsoft.)

Microsoft Windows Journal Viewer for Windows 2000
Saturday, August 16th, 2003This thing pops as a Windows Update. I sought once a Tablet PC, never interacted with a user of these toys, I have no idea, why, if they want to interact with me, would send me Journal files (what do those contain?) without transforming them into a format that everyone reads. Why sould hundreds of milions of Windows users get Journal readers if the thousands of Tablet Pc can convert those into something readable? Did Windows Update just become an advertising place?
