SuSE bought: that hurts

Sadly, SuSE was my favorite distro (at least for the 5 days in a year I was running Linux).
Let’s see all I remember about Novell:

  • they used to be some big corporation, so now and then some news website talks about them
  • there is that Netware thing that I see when I install Windows; still, I don’t know why that thing exists, because I could not see any use
  • the last time I’ve visited their website, it was more than filled with the “truth uncovered” about Microsoft, almost as much as to raise the envy of the same-minded Oracle webmaster
  • also, they had a trial version for an OS; I wasted a CD only to see it was 686 optimized and it couldn’t run on my K6; that hapened only after it asked me what kind of HDD or CD drive I have, because, illiterate, it couldn’t read my BIOS*

* Yes, I have a theory why is that done; it is said that discovering the devices is a long task.
So it seems like a day of disaster for Linux.
