MTV vs. MPAA

The beginning of my Westernization was probably, as a teen, watching MTV. When MTV has sold its brand to some locals here, I moved to VH-1.
Tonight I was watching the wrong station, the Romanian MTV. It was the local version of Party Zone. No music, only images from a club. The girlie with the mic moves to a table where sits an ex-Miss Romania, currently presenting a TV show about fashion and shopping. They start some small talk and the ex-Miss says she likes the music. She says she’ll talk to the DJ to burn her some CDs. The MTV employee girlie says she’ll happilly intermediate.
Only in Romania MTV moves P2P to another level, making it known through TV shows.
Later on: president Iliescu stated that he listens only to radio, because he can’t trust any music seller and he’s afraid of piracy.
